How FocusBGM Studio handles data
Last updated: March 29, 2026. This policy explains what information FocusBGM Studio processes, why it is used, and what control the operator has over that data.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the FocusBGM Studio desktop application, the supporting local automation workflow, and this documentation site. FocusBGM Studio is a local-first macOS application for producing long-form focus music videos and optionally preparing YouTube uploads.
2. Information processed by the app
- Local project data such as generated audio, rendered videos, metadata, logs, and job history.
- Pattern artwork files placed by the operator in local or shared folders for video rendering.
- YouTube channel identifiers and channel titles returned after successful OAuth authorization.
- OAuth client settings and refresh tokens required to upload to the user's own YouTube channel.
- Optional analytics data if the operator later enables YouTube analytics features.
3. How information is used
- To assemble audio and render videos selected by the operator.
- To upload videos to YouTube as private items under the channel explicitly authorized by the operator.
- To set video metadata such as title, description, thumbnail, audience designation, and privacy status.
- To display which YouTube channel is connected and whether authorization is still valid.
- To support troubleshooting through local logs and diagnostics.
4. Storage and security
FocusBGM Studio is designed to keep operational data on the user's own Mac whenever possible. Application settings and job data are stored locally. Sensitive YouTube secrets, including OAuth client secrets and refresh tokens, are stored using secure macOS system storage rather than as plain text in ordinary app settings.
If the operator configures shared folders such as iCloud Drive or a similar storage provider, those files follow the storage and sync rules of that provider.
5. Sharing with third parties
FocusBGM Studio does not sell personal information. Data is only sent to third parties when required for a user-requested workflow, such as Google/YouTube APIs for upload and channel access, or an operator-selected storage provider for synced files.
6. User control and retention
- The operator can disconnect any YouTube account from the app settings.
- The operator can remove local media files, logs, and application data directly from the Mac.
- The operator can revoke Google access from the Google Account security settings at any time.
- Locally stored data remains until it is removed by the operator or overwritten by normal app operation.
7. Children
FocusBGM Studio is an operator tool for content production and is not directed to children. The app can mark a YouTube upload as made for kids only when the operator explicitly chooses that setting for a given publishing workflow.
